Episode 31: Happy Accidents

On the Needles
Working frantically to finish the shawl for my Downton Abbey Swap partner.
Learning to let go and getting knitting mojo back by cleaning out the favorites and the queue, and working on my Summer Flies shawl in an attempt to finish the WIPs.

Knitting Finds
Propaganda Yarn - Dawn's new Sherlock-inspired colorway, Moriarty, was actually a happy accident.
Olympknits - adorable patterns and video featuring hand-knit athletes, expressing the excitement of the upcoming Olympics in London this summer.
New patterns galore: Hot Child in the City, a Malabrigo Freelance Patterns collection and Starling, a new laceweight sweater from Cecily Glowik MacDonald (great for that in-between weather).
Fun, beautiful and instantly gratifying project bags from YarnPop.
Getting the weaving bug thanks to an article about Ashford's new loom in Knitty - can't wait to try one out!

Review
Knitter's Curiosity Cabinet - thanks to Hunter Hammersen for sending me a copy! It is even more amazing than the site for the book suggests; highly recommended.

Events
Maryland Sheep and Wool - no plan other than to not buy yarn. Shocking, I know! I will be wandering around and enjoying the festival for what it is, and hopefully meet some of you. I am planning to be on the left side of the Main Exhibition barn (when you are facing it) on the small lawn. I will have a sign.

The Ravelympics are coming soon - and I am very excited to be a part of it this year as a captain for Team Sasquatch, the one-stop team for all of the podcasts. Pick your event, knit/crochet/weave/spin your project and go for gold! FAQs can be found here.

Thanks for Listening!
