I completed my first sewing project - the Lap Duvet from Purl SoHo.
The details are below (links are to where I purchased the materials).
Kona Cotton in Pansy
Art Gallery Bijoux in Honey Bohemian Charms
Gutermann Cotton Thread in Color 6110
Quilter's Dream Wool in Throw size
Basic needle that came with my machine
6/8 of an inch
I sewed the quilted tufts by setting my machine to the zigzag stitch setting, but did not place the presser foot down; that way the needed moved back and forth, but the fabric didn't move. I held it for a count of 10. Sometimes, the whole set moved over to the left so I think a walking foot is in the future for me.
It took me about 4 hours from start to finish, but that is pretty good timing since this is my first project. It looks a bit wrinkled because I have been using it at night; we keep the AC on to have a cool room to sleep in and I was really excited to get good light to take the photos. I definitely plan to make more of these in the future, and in other sizes.
