Hey all,
If you go onto iTunes, you may be wondering, where did all the episodes go?
The easy answer is that they are still on my laptop. And if you have downloaded them already, still on yours too.
The more complicated answer is, they are waiting to be re-uploaded. Long story short, a listener requested if possible that I put the back episodes back into mp3. What I usually have done is upload them in mp3, then switch later to m4a. However, this is not fair to new and any listeners who have non-m4a friendly devices. So, I am going to upload and keep everything in the mp3 format from here on out.
This was simply because I had one of the more affordable plans when it comes to podcast hosting - I love doing the show, and while I have a donation button on the blog, I have never explicitly asked for donations on the air because I feel weird, and my mom raised me to be too polite to ask for things sometimes. This is one of them. I will always leave it up to you and place no pressure whatsoever. My hope is that one day there is going to be a way to cover the minimal costs of the podcast out of voluntary and individual choice.
That being said, thanks to knitpurlgurl of the Knit Purl Girl and auntieaipee of the Knit.Spin.Cake. podcasts, I found a more affordable way to do the hosting. This means I had to take down all of the episodes from the old RSS feed, and slooooooowly reupload them in order to maximize the storage space I have to the new RSS feed.
Thankfully, I have both regular storage and archival storage - that means I can “archive” a podcast episode in mp3 format, still have it available to you, and be able to upload new episodes. The amount of archival space I have per month is still limited and while it does refresh, it does so every month. So that means the back catalog is going to be going back up very slowly. As most of you know, I like to share and talk alot and in detail. That makes for long episodes and large files.
I will keep you posted as to which episodes are up, and if you are downloading on iTunes, they will refresh there as well.
Thanks so much for the support and the feedback.

Hello Maria!
ReplyDeleteCould you share the direct links to your files i.e. the website where they're hosted? I don't use iTunes because I'm a Linux user, and consequently I can't download your episodes from iTunes.
Many thanks for your help - I look forward to listening to your podcast.
No problem Isabelle! I will also add this link to the Subscribe tab as well. Here is is in the meantime - please let me know if it works!
